CT Man Wanted For Attempted Murder Nabbed With 40 Pounds Of Pot, AK-47, Police Say

A Connecticut man who was an alleged fugitive from justice wanted for attempted murder was busted with 40 pounds of marijuana and an AK-47 assault rifle by a US Marshals task force.

New Haven County resident Joshua Williams, age 26, of New Haven, was arrested on Tuesday, April 12.

Williams was arrested on a warrant out of New York for attempted murder and was safely taken into custody, said Officer Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police.

The 40 pounds of pot seized.

Inside the home, New Haven Police seized:

  • 2 handguns with extended magazines
  • An AK-47 assault rifle with an extended magazine
  • A bulletproof vest
  • 40 pounds of marijuana
  • 52 oxycodone pills

Williams was charged with being a fugitive from justice. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
